Detailed Engineering Design of 38.4 km road in the Nueva León Highway, which connects western Nicaragua (León and Chinandega).

This road that had been built for several years, has suffered a great deterioration due to the lack of maintenance of the road. It shows an irregular surface due to successive bumps but with a floor that can be used by the recovery method.

The development of the road contemplates the layout of two bands with two 3.5 m lanes except in the sections between the municipalities of Ciudad Sandino, Mateare, Nagarote, which will be 4 lanes two in each direction, 3.5 with shoulder extension, and precast concrete bridges.

The project included upgrading works under Double Bituminous Surface Treatment, and rehabilitation and widening works of urban roads.

It includes the replacement of two important bridges: Los Cabros bridge and Nagarote.

The project also included the following Drainage Infrastructures: (i) Road surface drainage with the drainage of stormwater runoff; (ii) Subsurface drainage with the interception and disposal of groundwater flows; (iii) Erosion protection measures for the slopes.
