FEASIBILITY STUDY, ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AND FINAL DESIGN FOR REHABILITATION, IMPROVEMENT AND EXTENSION OF THE ROAD GUANGARCUCHO – LUMAGPAMBA (BRIDGE EUROPA) – PAUTE – GUALACEO (35 KM)
The project objective is the preparation of feasibility studies, environmental impacts and detailed engineering design for the rectification, improvement and expansion to four lanes of the Guangarcucho-Lumagpamba-Paute-Gualaceo Interchange Highway located in the province of Azuay.
The study will determine a new transfer, giving greater fluidity to the circulation of about 8,000 vehicles that use the route daily to connect with the eastern cantons of the Azuay province; and, obtain a saving in the cost of operation of the automobiles and of the travel time of the users. Conversion of existing road into a motorway through the design of a new layout of dual carriageway with two lanes in each direction.
The proposed pavement is bituminous. The total length of the road design is about 35Km.
The project included upgrading works under Double Bituminous Surface Treatment, and rehabilitation and widening works of urban roads.
The project also included the following Drainage Infrastructures: (i) Road surface drainage with the drainage of stormwater runoff; (ii) Subsurface drainage with the interception and disposal of groundwater flows; (iii) Erosion protection measures for the slopes
