DESIGN AND SUPERVISION OF THE EXPANSION AND REHABILITATION OF WATER SUPPLY AND SEWERAGE INFRASTRUCTURE – CHOMA
The Ministry of Local Government and Housing intended to provide funds to Southern Water and Sewerage Company Limited, the Water Utility mandated to provide water and sewerage services in Southern Province, to ensure that the water supply and sanitation situation in the town of Choma is improved in order to support the activities of the Provincial Capital.
The activities proposed to be undertaken in the improvement of water supply and sewerage systems have, wherever possible, been linked to measurement indicators which will assist to evaluate progress towards improvement of service quality and efficiency in Choma Town.
The key challenges in Choma facing the Company are summarized as follows: (i) To improve the quality of the water and Sewerage services so that they meet the expectations of the residents of Choma for which the Company primarily exists. (ii) To Reduce Water Losses so the water produced is able to meet the demand for the benefit of all stakeholders in the Provincial Capital – Choma. (iii) To increase revenue to achieve sustainability both in the short and long term.
The object of the assignment is to prepare designs of the expansion and rehabilitation of water and sewerage infrastructure and subsequently supervise the construction works.
