DESIGN REVIEW AND CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION OF KAGADI (LOT 4), BUGOIGO-WALUKUBA (LOT 2) AND ZIGOTI-SEKANYONI (LOT 9)
The WSDF-C provides technical and financial support to help districtsand Town Councils to develop, rehabilitate and expand water supply services andsanitation in the small towns and rural growth centres, following a demandbased approach under the framework of Uganda’s water and sanitation policiesand relevant sector strategies. The project area comprise of Kagadi town (Lot4), located in Kibaale District; Bugoigo-Walukuba township (Lot 2) located inBuliisa District; and Zigoti-Ssekanyoni township (Lot 9), located in MityanaDistrict. Kigadi Town: the town covers a land area of 35km2 and has anestimated 37,000 people. The services areas includes the township of Ruteretewhich is approximately six (6) from Kagadi town, with a population pf about 6,000 people.
The proposed supply is a surface water treatment and transmission,approx.. 700m3 storage and 60 km pipe network. Bugoigo-Walukuba: population ofabout 7,426 people. There is an existing surface water supply system ofinsufficient capacity serving ony Butiaba town. The works will improve thetreatment and expand the storage and distribution network. The works alsoinclude rehabilitation measures in Butiaba town.
Zigoti-Sisekanyonyi: population of about 14,000people.
